World Championship Nunchaku 2022

Freestyle
The WNA only allows the official WNA safety nunchaku for the freestyle.
The suits are free to choose as long as they ar budo looking. The
contestant has to be a member of the WNA. The freestyle must be longer
than 90 seconds and less than 180 seconds. The tournament knows three
classes: juniors (girls and boys together until 15 years old), ladies
and gents (16 years and older). If there are few competitors in one
class the organisation is allowed to merge different classes. The
judgement will be done by an international jury which consists of four
persons. The highest and lowest points of the four judges will be
skipped. The two other points are added. In the morning (May 28th 2022)
the qualifications are planned. The contestant show her or his freestyle
once during the qualification. The number one, two and tree of each
class show their freestyle once more in the finals in the evening. After
these finals the world champion will be announced.

Kumite
The rules for kumite are written down in the WNA kumite rulebook which
you can find at the WNA website:
www.nunchaku.org/regulations/. The WNA only allows the
official WNA safety nunchaku for the kumite. The contestant has to be a
member of the WNA. The kumite is divided in the following classes:
smaller than 1.45 m.
smaller than 1.55 m.
smaller than 1.65 m.
smaller than 1.65 m. ladies
taller than 1.65 m. ladies
smaller than 1.75 m.
smaller than 1.85 m.
taller than 1.85 m.
For each class the best foreign fighter receives a medal or cup.

Kata
The WNA only allows the official WNA safety nunchaku for the kata. Other
nunchakus are not allowed by law in the Netherlands. The contestant has
to be a member of the WNA. The rules for kata are written down in the

All contestants show their kata. The kyu degrees show the Competition
kata and the black belts show kata Shodan. In the morning (May 28th

these finals the world champion will be announced.
